A trip round Lake Bolmen, Sweden´s tenth largest lake, on foot, by bicycle or by car will take you through a varied countryside with beach and oak forest alternating with confierous forest rural idylls with red houses and white trim, stone fences that are a reminder of the tail of previous generations and towns and villages with fascinating culture and history.

You can also enjoy the pleasures of catching a pike, perch or pike-perch in the clean water or taking a picnic on a beach. The many nature conservation areas offer scenic walks and outdoor adventures.
The National Road Administration operates a free cable ferry over the 1200 m wide sound between Sunnaryd and Bolmsö.
The large water also has a rich bird life with black-throated diver and osprey nesting here.
If you want a break from the beautiful countryside, we suggest a visit to some of the towns around Lake Bolmen, with museums, resturants, hotels, shopping and modern design etc.
